Surrounded by 3 distinct mountain ranges, the Central Valley offers beautiful vistas virtually everywhere you look.

For instance, Puntarenas stretches from the far south Pacific coast where there is lots of rain year round and is always green since it is the tropical rain forest, whereas up into the Nicoya Peninsula in the Guanacaste province where it is more typically much dryer especially Dec - May, since it is home to the tropical dry forest.
